Finding Your Fit: Choosing the Perfect Floor Plan for Your New Home

So, you have viewed our communities, toured model homes, and walked available lots. You’ve chosen the perfect spot for your new home and fallen in love with our features. What’s the next step? Selecting your floor plan! With so many options available, it can be challenging to find the ideal layout for you and your family. Here are a few considerations to make sure your new home meets your current and future needs!

First, create a list of features that are non-negotiable for you. These should include items that you cannot live without in your home. Consider your daily routine and what brings you joy in your space. If you spend a lot of time in the kitchen, then you may want to invest in a plan with a spacious, open kitchen that is connected to your family room and breakfast area. If you have a family member who works from home, you should probably have a dedicated office space at the top of your list of must-haves. Additionally, you should also include features that simply enhance your living experience. So, if having your laundry room connected to the master closet makes your living more comfortable and convenient—add it to the list! While you may adjust this list to fit your budget, remember that building a new home is a chance to incorporate everything you’ve dreamed of having!

Your financial state plays a crucial role in determining the decisions you should make for your new home. It not only influences the overall affordability of the home but also dictates the choices available to you in terms of floor plans, features and upgrades. This is something to keep in mind when making selections. Opting for a floor plan that fits within your budget ensures that you can comfortably manage mortgage payments and ongoing expenses without financial strain.

Next, consider the stage of life you are currently in. Will this be your forever home, or the first of several residences? This can influence the size of floor plan you need, the number of rooms, and other important features. Do you have plans to add to your family in the near future, or are you approaching the transition to an empty nest? Is having the master suite on the main floor a priority to you? (Luckily, most of our floor plans include this option!) These considerations will guide you towards choosing the ideal home that aligns with your lifestyle and future plans.

Are you passionate about entertaining, hosting family and friends, and creating a welcoming space for your guests? If so, an open floor plan, an expansive kitchen, and ample space may better fit your preferences. Considering a formal dining room or a covered back porch in your floor plan may be areas of focus to accommodate and entertain your guests comfortably.

We hope that our suggestions have sparked ideas to help you determine the ideal floor plan for your new home. Our team is ready to explore floor plan options with you and help you find the plan of your dreams!
